Charles was born Feb. 14, 1945, the son of Charles and Alice (Lamoraaux) Howell. He was the owner and operator of Howell Landscaping for 43 years. He was a Past-President of the Holly Jaycees and was a member of the Oakland County Sportsmanís Club and the MDLA. He loved fishing, golfing, camping, boating, teaching junior rifle class, and being outdoors.
Surviving are his wife, Diane; two daughters, Debbie (Jeff) Swanson of Ortonville and Colleen Bailey of Holly; four grandchildren, Ian and Danielle Swanson and Jessica and Amber Bailey; brothers and sisters, John Howell of Florida, Florence Thompson of Romeo, Suzie Johnson of Attica, James Howell of Almont, Russell Howell of Romeo, Emily Izzo of Southfield, Patty Cole of Sandusky, and Christopher Howell of Hazel Park; brothers and sisters-in-law, William Coleman of Waterford, Margie Caunt of Milford, Tammy Hendrickson of Pontiac, Allen Coleman of Highland, and Raymond Coleman of Holly.
A funeral service was planned for 11 a.m. today, Saturday, Jan. 7, at the Dryer Funeral Home in Holly. Pastor Jim Combs officiating.

Loving daughter of John and Marianne. Beloved sister of Joseph William. Dear granddaughter of Jane (the late Joseph) Stack, and Arlene (the late William) Romsek. Also survived by her boyfriend Kane Hayes, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Marissa graduated in 2011 from Lake Orion High School and was a student at the MSU Lyman Briggs College. Marissa fulfilled her life journey by experiencing the thrill of life to the fullest so she could die feeling accomplished. She cared so deeply for others and would be thrilled that her gift of organs saved the lives of six others. She was a loving daughter, sister, friend and will be in our hearts forever. William E. Bellairs, Jr., a 41-year resident of Oxford, died suddenly on Saturday, December 24, 2011. He was 61 years old.
Beloved husband of Susan.
Dear father of Pamela Bellairs of Oxford, and Aimee (Eric) Hurtado of Oxford. Loving Grandfather of Zachary, Alyssa, Tobey, Dustin, and Megan.

Mr. Bellairs retired from Romeo Ford Proving Ground, and also worked at Bellairs & Son Standard station in Oxford. He was proud to serve on staff of the Young Marines in Lapeer County.
Funeral services Friday, Dec. 30 at 1 pm. from the Lake Orion Chapel, Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home (248-693-8336).
Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 29 from 2 to 5 p.m., and 7 to 9 p.m., and Friday, Dec. 30 from 11 a.m. until time of funeral.
