July 25, 2012 - After three months of renovations The Sunoco on Broadway was transformed from a gas station into a 24 hours a day, seven days a week superstore including Dunkin Donuts and Baskin Robbins ice cream.

"It's been completely gutted out. It's a brand new station," said Manager Derek Koza, whose family has owned the station for 10 years. "It's a place where Lake Orion residents can shop convenience."

The mission of the Center Square Superstore is "to provide our customers with friendly service, accessibility, convenience and wide variety of quality name brand products."

The restaurant side of the store offers a variety of breakfast and lunch sandwiches available anytime, as well as an array of coffees, smoothies, milkshakes, ice cream both hard and soft serve, donuts, and other sweet treats.

"It's a lot of hard work and we're very excited to be open," said Anthony Panos, restaurant manager. "Our main focus is to satisfy the customer and make sure to get people's order done correctly."

Since opening, he said they've definitely seen the foot traffic pick up, especially families coming in for a cool treat on these hot summer nights.

Panos said they also offer ice cream birthday cakes that can be made out of any flavor of ice cream they have. He said people are welcome to come by and sample some ice cream. Every month they will also have a new theme.

"This month is Oreo's 100th birthday," so we have Oreo donuts, Oreo ice cream, and Oreo milkshakes," he said. "We also offer all the classics, ice cream Sundays, and freshly baked waffle cones, which are made every hour in house."

Not only has opening Duncan Donuts and Baskin Robbins helped them, but it's helped the economy by opening 25 new jobs to employees.

On the store side they have everything you need snack and drink wise, including a beer cave and wide variety of liquor in all sizes.

"Whether you visit us on your way to or on your way home from work or a local choice for all your household necessities," Koza said. "Center Square will always look to improve the variety of our products and stay competitive in our pricing and improve our convenience for your busy lives, all with a smile and a thank you."
