January 11, 2012 - Katie Carnacchi, 11, gave the gift of confidence and care for Christmas, donating 10 inches of her hair to Locks of Love.

"She only knows long hair and wears a permanent ponytail," said Mary Carnacchi, her mother.

Katie, a student at Andersonville Elementary School, hasn't stopped smiling since, said Barbie Hensel, her hair dresser.

"It's a really big change for a girl who's only known very long hair," Hensel said. "With encouraement from her mom and me, plus some Swedish Fish, she agreed."
