Councilman resigns

February 08, 2012 - City Council has a vacancy after the Feb. 1 resignation of Councilman Chuck Inabnit.

Inabnit served on the council for five years, but due to personal reasons had to resign.

"I had to concentrate more on my family," he said. "It wouldn't be fair to the taxpayers because I couldn't be there."

"It was a pleasure working with you (Chuck)," said former Councilman Cory Johnston. "Your observations and knowledge of the city will be missed."

Councilman Richard Bisio said he will miss Inabnit's "perspective and contributions to the councils work."

Inabnit said comments make him feel his "time was well spent," but described the majority of time as "frustrating."

"There were a lot of issues while I was on there," he said. "I did what I thought was my best for the taxpayers and that's who I was there for."

Those interested in a council position can contact City Manager Dennis Ritter at 248-625-1559.

Trevor graduated with degrees in English and communications from Rochester College. He wrote for his college and LA View newspapers before joining The Clarkston News in May 2007.
