March 21, 2012 - OCEF Easter

Volunteers are needed for the Ortonville Community Emergency Fund's Easter food sort, April 1, as well as the food distribution April 2.

The food pantry that serves families in need in the Brandon School District is expecting to assist 200 families with Easter dinners and some candy for children this year.

Food donations are also sought. The OCEF wish list includes: cake mix; frosting; bagged candy; cereal; egg dye kits; canned fruit; Jell-O/pudding; peanut butter; jelly; boxed macaroni and cheese; muffin/quick bread mix; canned soup; tuna; canned vegetables; paper towels; and toilet paper.

Donated items can be dropped off at the food box at Bueche's Food World, 400 N. Ortonville Road, or at St. Anne Church, 825 S. Ortonville Road. Details: 248-627-3965, ext. 103.

Windsor Casino trip

From 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., April 17, at the Edna Burton Senior Center, 345 Ball St., Ortonville, there will be a Windsor Casino trip. The cost is $20 person, and you will receive $15 back from the casino. You must have either a valid passport or an enhanced driver's license. Details: 248-627-6447.

Craft, bake and treasure sale

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., April 21, the Edna Burton Senior Center, 345 Ball St., Ortonville, will host a craft, bake and treasure sale. Table rental available. Details: 248-627-6447.

Brandon Idol

At 6 p.m., March 26 and 27, at the Performing Arts Center at Brandon High School, 1025 S. Ortonville Road, Ortonville, there will be the performances of "Brandon Idol." Tickets are $5 per night and will be sold at the door.

Youth baseball
