April 25, 2012 - It's a shame that some people don't think it's newsworthy when an elementary school holds its annual fun-filled Spring Fair just as Lakeville Elementary did on Saturday.

But fortunately, we at the Oxford Leader know that it's events like these that are the bread-and-butter of community journalism.

Proud parents and grandparents want to clip these adorable photos out of the newspaper and place them in their scrapbooks or on their refrigerator doors.

Kids absolutely love seeing themselves and bragging to all their friends about how they were in the local newspaper.

We're in our 115th year of doing this and we're going to keep on, no matter what.

CJ Carnacchio is editor for The Oxford Leader. He lives in the Village of Oxford with his wife Connie and daughter Larissa. When he's not busy working on the newspaper, he enjoys cigars/pipes, Martinis/Scotch, hunting and fishing.
