At 5 p.m., July 21, the Brandon High School Class of 1967 will gather for a 45th class reunion at the Springrove Estates Clubhouse, 10771 Dixie Highway. In addition, at 6 p.m., July 20 there will be a "Greet & Meet" at Four Seasons Inn, 10816 Dixie Highway. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., May 4, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., May 5, at the Ortonville United Methodist Church, 93 Church St., there will be the Bi-Annual Country Church Quilt Show. At 7 p.m., May 4, at the Fletcher Intermediate School gym, 300 South St., Ortonville, the Ortonville Lions Club will present Donkey Basketball. Brandon High School students will play the winner of the BHS faculty or Brandon firefighters and police teams. Tickets $6 in advance and $8 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at most Brandon school offices or during lunch hours. Proceeds will benefit the Lions scholarship fund and local charities. At 7 p.m., May 9, the Goodrich Area Schools Board of Education recently will host a focus group, at the GHS Community Room, 8029 S. Gale Road.
The Michigan Leadership Institute, was selected by the board to conduct their search for the district's new superintendent. As part of this process, parents, community members and business owners, are invited to communicate the qualifications, characteristics, and skills they perceive are important for the position of superintendent. Starting at 6 p.m., May 4, at the Bull Ring Sports Grille, 8234 South State Road, Goodrich, there will be a "Beer"topia fundraiser to benefit the Good Times in Goodrich Festival. Children's essay contest
Wojo's Greenhouse, 2570 Oakwood Road, is seeking a short essay from children in the third and fourth grades explaining why their mother should receive flowers for Mother's Day. Children in the first and second grades are welcome to write a paragraph. Winners will receive a $50 Wojo's gift card and will be announced May 7. 248-627-6498.
