May 02, 2012 - Orion Assembly and UAW Local 5960 hosted over 100 children during the 2012 Bring Your Sons and Daughters to Work Day.

Visiting children were able to participate in several activities during their visit, including a working on an "assembly line" featuring wooden cars, hands-on assembly training using Legos, plant tour of production departments and an environmental overview which included a tour of the plant's powerhouse operations.

During the tour, children were shown the work and values involved in assembling the Chevrolet Sonic and Buick Verano.

Feedback from children and parents was very positive according to plant officials.

"It was an exciting experience for participating children, seeing what type of jobs their parents perform at work," said Plant Communications Manager Kevin Nadrowski. "It was also an opportunity for many parents to see their place of work through a new set of eyes from this educational opportunity.
