Kids Day in Park

May 09, 2012 - Enjoy a Kids Day in the Park, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday, May 12, at Clintonwood Park, 6000 Clarkston Road.

Hosted by Independence Township Parks and Recreation and Great Turtle Toys, the event includes a 60-animal Petting Zoo, sponsored by LaFontaine Automotive, Kids Only Garage Sale, kite building, bounce houses, pet adoptions, archery, face painting, balloon animals, tumbling, fort building, football clinic, coloring, crafts, hula hooping, egg toss and duck pond game.

"The Kids Day in the Park is an opportunity for you to get outside and experience a huge collection of activities to satisfy an array of interests with your family," said Jamie Nye, owner of Great Turtle Toys and co-host of the event.

"Our objective is to get kids outdoors this day and with a focus of kid friendly and family fun," said Kelly Hyer, recreation supervisor of Independence Township.

Admission is free.
