May 30, 2012 - Latchkey Day Camp

Beginning June 1, Brandon Schools will be holding Latchkey Day Camp. The camp offers weekly field trips, water play, pizza making, and daily crafts. Enrollment for summer and the 2012-2013 school year is now taking place.Details: 248-627-1859.

Free concert

At 10 a.m., June 10, Victory World Outreach Church, 10291 Green Road., Goodrich, will host the "Comedian of the Year" and "Band of the Year." Blaine Bowman and His Goodtime Band, will perform a free concert followed by a free dinner. The entire community is welcome. Details: 810-636-2100.

Barns fundraiser

From 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., June 9, Goodrich High School, 8029 S.

Gale Road, will host a gold buying fundraiser to aid in David Barns' fight against cancer. The fundraiser will take place in the school cafeteria. A professional will be on hand to purchase silver coins and any old, damaged gold, silver, or platinum jewelry. All proceeds to benefit David Barns. Details: 810-636-3152.

BHS band reunion

Starting at noon, June 30, Brandon High School Band will host a reunion of the classes of '80 to '89 at Big Fish Lake State Park on Hadley Road, Ortonville. Details:

Flood insurance

Starting at 5:30 p.m., June 4, the Holiday Inn, 5353 Gateway Center Blvd., Flint, will host Senator John Gleason, local officials and representatives from the Office of Financial and Insurance Regulation to provide information on flood insurance. The townhall is meant to assist Genesee County residents including residents of Atlas Township and Goodrich who were affected by the flooding that occured in early May.
