July 25, 2012 - As usual, Leonard's Strawberry Festival was the hit of the summer season.

Winning ribbons at the festival were:

Parade Float: Christmas in Action (1st); Everyday is a Holiday in Leonard (2nd) and Strawberry Golf Cart (3rd).

The 'Everyday is a Holiday' float also won "Best Overall in Parade" and was created by Rebekah Smith, Emily Amy, Delanie Lines, Chloe Lucci and Kailyn Thomas. The Strawberry Golf Cart, done by Aveline and Klaire Schienke, also won the Judges' Choice Award.

Parade Group winners included Amber's Dance Academy (1st), Oxford Cub Scout Pack 4 (2nd) and the decorated bicycles (3rd). In the tractor category, the Stafford Family took first while Stan Wojes' Amazing Corn Maze Tractor finished second.

Bike decorating contest winners included Jaiden Hatchew (1st), Kaeleigh Fletemier (2nd) and Kali Thacker (3rd).

In the Strawberry Bake-Off, the winners in the 8-12-year-old bracket were Grace Wolle (1st), Hannah Peyerk (2nd) and Colin Almeranti (3rd). Ann Wolle won "Best Overall.

In the 13-to-adult category, the bake-off winners were Leah Noaker (1st), Janet Smuth (2nd) and Barb Wheeler (3rd).

Classic Car Show winners were Terry Carfat (Best Overall), Dan Roth (1st) and Bob Cibb (2nd).

Dale Pontzious (4996 Rosy Drive) won the 2012 Most Attractive Yard Contest.
