October 10, 2012 - Gun show Oct. 20

Oxford American Legion Post 108, located at 130 E. Drahner Rd., will host a gun show on Saturday Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and teens ages 13-18; $2 for kids under 13 while accompanied by an adult. Spaghetti dinner

The Lakeville Cemetery Auxiliary will hold a spaghetti dinner fund-raiser on Thursday, Oct. 18 at 1447 Milmine St. in Lakeville. There will be seatings at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. Cost is $7 for adults; $3.50 for kids ages 4-12; and children 3-and-under eat free. Proceeds go to help beautify the historic cemetery. Take-out is available.

Oktoberfest with the Elks Club

Come celebrate the recent consolidation of the Rochester and North Oakland Elks Clubs with an Oktoberfest/Membership Party on Saturday, Oct. 13 beginning at 2 p.m. The location is 3100 Pond Rd. in Addison Township, although the mailing address is Leonard.

The Elks are inviting all residents to attend this event, and consider membership. The live music will be provided by Tri City Plus Band, so make sure you wear your dancing shoes. They play a wide assortment of music, including German music for the occasion.

Authentic German cuisine will also be available, so come hungry.

Kingsbury 5K

Kingsbury Country Day School will host members of the local community, families and friends of the school as well as runners from all over Michigan for the Second Annual OktoberFAST 5K Trail Run/Walk and "Trick-or-Trot" race for children 9 years old and younger. The events will be held on the KCDS campus on Saturday, Oct. 13.

Participants can pre-register online for $15 at www.kingsburyschool.org.

The run/walk will begin at 10 a.m. Registration on race day is at 9 a.m. You may register on race day for $20. All pre-registered participants will receive a prize, while supplies last. There will be awards for the top three overall male and female finishers. Water and fruit will be provided. Bring a canned good to the race in support of Oxford/Orion FISH.
