Glass studio to host open house

Pine Lake Glassworks invites the community to its 6th Annual Fall Open Studio, 12 noon to 5 pm, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 3-4. The studio is located at 1040 South Coats Road in Oxford Township.

Dave Hilty, owner of Pine Lake Glassworks, enjoys demonstrating his glassblowing craft to the hundreds of visitors attending this annual fall event.

Children from age 5 to 99 are fascinated by the opportunity to watch, up close, the gathering of 2,000 degree molten glass from the furnace. Adding color, blowing and shaping by hand using centuries-old techniques to complete a blown vessel make for an entertaining and unique way to spend an afternoon.
