February 13, 2013 - Traditionally, budget-strained restaurant patrons have understood that nights out on the town are followed by days at home dining on ramen noodles and macaroni and cheese to atone for their extravagance.

Several restaurants throughout Oxford are rebelling against that conventional wisdom in late February and early March by offering select dishes at discounted prices during Restaurant Week. The goal is to make great food affordable at one fixed price in every participating restaurant.

The concept behind Restaurant Week beginning Feb. 22 and concluding March 3 - is simplicity itself. Dining establishments throughout Oxford (spanning the Village of Oxford and Oxford Township) will offer three-course meals (an appetizer, a main course and dessert) at a fixed price or on a per-couple basis. Full regular menus will be available in all establishments for guests not partaking in the special offers.

"Restaurant Week provides a unique opportunity for guests to experience entrées they had believed to be beyond their comfortable price range," said Holly Bills, Executive Director of the Oxford Chamber of Commerce.

The event is sponsored by the Oxford Chamber of Commerce. Establishments participating in Restaurant Week include: 'Wiches, Victoria's Delights, Italia Gardens, Casa Real, The Oxford Tap, Vendetti's Pizza and Pasta, and Montana's Rib and Chop House. More restaurants will be coming soon.

All of the restaurants are located along Lapeer Road, within Oxford Township. Bordered by Lake Orion to the south and the Oakland County line to the north, Oxford is approximately 10 miles north of the Palace of Auburn Hills.

"We want guests that have never visited our community before to discover all that Oxford has to offer, and Restaurant Week is a way to bring those new guests into town for the first time," added Patrick Hingst, 'Wiches Owner and Restaurant Week organizer. "At the same time, we're providing long-time residents an attractive reminder why there's no reason to leave their hometown for the most appealing dining options around."
