February 13, 2013 - Goodrich- A few new neighbors may be arriving soon in the village.

Davison-based C & L Ward Brothers recently purchased the remaining parcels in Goodrich Meadows.

The village subdivision, which first opened about ten years ago, had been owned by Huntington Bank for the past two years following a series of financial shortcomings.

Goodrich Meadows includes a total of 83 building lots in which 34 homes are now located. The development also includes village sewers.

Pat Ward of C & L Ward Brothers said expect new homes in the community within a few months.

"We're excited about coming into the Goodrich market," said Ward, an Atlas Township resident. "Right now we are looking at building medium-priced homes and hope to have the subdivision built out with 49 homes in about three to five years."

Ward said homes will be priced from the $179,000 to $239,000 range and be from 1,800 to 2,400 square feet with three and four bedrooms. There will be six to eight floor plan options to choose from with a variety of interior designs for cabinets, flooring and windows available.

"There's a need for mid-range family homes in the area," he said. "We've done extensive market research and are definitely seeing an upswing in housing sales and prices. We are looking to have a model home up by June and an open house for those interested to stop by and visit."

In the 1970s C&L Ward Brothers installed window and siding materials throughout mid-Michigan. In 1977 the company opened its first store on Lippincott Road in Davison. After outgrowing this location, the Davison store was relocated to its present location on Lapeer Road in 1981. C&L Ward acquired its second location in Kawkawlin in 1999. In January 2009, C&L Ward opened its third showroom at the Meridian Mall in Okemos to serve the greater Lansing market with their products and installation services. In the Detroit metro area, a fourth location will be opened in Novi at the Shops of Gateway Village in June 2010.
