January 15, 2014 - The Clarkston High School DECA Club competed this past Saturday in the District 6 Regional competition at Lakeland High School.

Out of the 18 members, 14 made it to the 2014 State Conference, held March 14-16 in downtown Detroit.

The students who made it to states are: Ryleigh McGregor, Mitch McCord, Mitch Smith, TJ Craven, Cooper Parks, Sabrina Parks, Maranda Hartman, Kristen Hetzel, Kaitlin Hetzel,Kylie Johnston, Gavin Butler, Courtney DeConinck, Monica Auger, and Amanda Wakefield.

Clarkston High School DECA chapter is a club preparing emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing and management.

Clarkston's chapter advisor is Ms. Moore, the marketing teacher. The students have to take a standardized test, then at the competition are given a prompt. They present their solution to a judge.

DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.
