May 07, 2014 - Banbury Cross Therapeutic Equestrian Center (1223 Brauer Rd.) in Metamora Twp. hosted its 24th Annual Derby Day Celebration on Saturday.

Centered around the 140th running of the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs, the event featured silent and live auctions, chances to pick the Derby's winning horse, a parade featuring some of Banbury's riders, horses and instructors, and a delicious dinner.

Banbury Cross utilizes horseback riding to help students with physical and cognitive challenges grow emotionally and improve their overall physical fitness.

A total of 270 people attended the fund-raiser generating more than $100,000 for Banbury Cross. Photos & story by C.J. Carnacchio
