July 09, 2014 - On April 26, the Motor City Brew Tours held their "Cruisin' for the Trails" event on the Paint Creek Trail and raised $3,150 for trail improvements. Participants rode from Clubhouse BFD in Rochester Hills to the Paint Creek Cider Mill in Oakland Township, where they were greeted with a free can of New Belgium Beer.

As part of the event festivities, New Belgium Brewing donated a Fat Tire Bicycle for a raffle that raised $1,150. Steve Johnson, President of Motor City Bike & Brew Tours was thrilled with the turnout.

"Motor City Brew Tours would like to thank everyone who came out to support the rail-trails in Oakland County. We appreciated all of the riders, volunteers and sponsors who made this charity bike event such an amazing success. We look forward to bringing an even better event experience in 2015. Special thanks goes to New Belgium Brewing, Clubhouse BFD, Main Street Bicycles and the Paint Creek Cider Mill for making it a wonderful day to be on a bike!"

On May 29, 2014, Johnson presented a check for $2,000 to Jim Van Doorn, President of Friends of the Paint Creek Trail.

"We greatly appreciate the continued support of the Motor City Brew Tours in helping us achieve our goal of enhancing the Paint Creek Trail for thousands of users annually. We have many plans for improving the trail including more bike fix-it stations and developing a new educational side path," said Van Doorn.
