Head to Toe spa and Exclusive Salon Suites are teaming up to bring the first full combination hair and spa into downtown Lake Orion.
The ground floor of their new location at 18 S. Broadway Street will be Exclusive Salon Suites, owned by Reggie Sager, and the second floor will be Head to Toe spa.
Head to Toe was formerly located on Flint Street nine years ago and moved to Oxford because there was a building with more room
But now owner Donna Walker's spa will come to downtown once again, to stay.
"The opportunity came up to join another business and with that location right next door to Sagebrush, I just thought this was a great opportunity to get back to a downtown area," Walker said. "I'm glad to be moving back to Lake Orion."
The new location, 18 S. Broadway, has been vacant since the fire in 2007 that destroyed Broadway Records, which was the last business to be at that location.
Walker describes the space as "perfect, brand-new and up scale." The building has an elevator to accommodate customers who may not be able to walk stairs.
Head to Toe offers massages, facials, body treatments, waxing, manicures and pedicures. Their phone number will stay the same, (248) 236-4202, and, according to their website (headtotoes.com), appointments can be made after September 2.
Exclusive Salon Suites offer individual space for stylists looking for a place to serve their clients.
Stylists will be independent, paying monthly for the individual space.
Those interested in renting out stylist space can contact Sager at (248) 882-8211 or log onto exclusivesalonsuites.com for more information about the spaces available.
Head to Toes and Exclusive Salon has been talking with Lake Orion's Downtown Development Authority for the last several months discussing the available opportunities. With only some interior building, plumbing and trim work left to be done,
Head to Toes and Exclusive Salon Suites plan to open their doors sometime in September.
"The two businesses are going to work together so that somebody going in to get their hair done can also go upstairs and get a massage and facial, and vice versa," Walker said. "It makes for the only true service salon and spa in downtown."
