August 27, 2014 - Brandon Twp.- Police are seeking anyone with information on an intruder that a 12-year-old girl woke to find standing over her bed last weekend.

According to Oakland County Sheriff's Office police reports, Brandon deputies responded at about 3:33 a.m. Aug. 23 to a mobile home in the 3700 block of Chestnut for a report of a breaking and entering in progress. Upon arrival, the homeowner told deputies his 12-year-old daughter woke him about 15 minutes prior, telling him that there had been a male subject standing next to her bed. When she moved, the subject attemtpted to hide below the bed, but then got up and jumped out of the bedroom window.

When her father went into her room, he found the screen to her window had been torn and the televsion and dvd player that sat on a dresser in front of the window had been moved. The man returned to his room and woke his wife. The two then ran outside looking for the intruder. They did not find him, but noticed a toy chest had been moved against the trailer to gain access to their daughter's window.

The deputies observed a small hole punched in the screen to the girl's bedroom widnow. The bottom half of the screen was then pulled out of the track to gain access.

The 12-year-old, who was asleep in her room with her younger sister and a friend, said she was awakened by a thud. When she opened her eyes, she observed a teenage male standing near her bed staring at her. When she moved, he crouched down next to her bed, attempting to hide, then jumped out the window. She described him as either white or Hispanic, with short, dark hair, around 13 or 14-years-old, in baggy black jeans, a dark T-shirt and red and white sneakers.

About three weeks prior, the girl had also told her father she saw someone looking in her window. The father did not locate anyone at that time.
