Keep the hate out of politics

September 19, 2012 - Recently I noticed a political presentation in front of the Lake Orion post office.  As an independent voter, I object to such displays on Orion Township property.

Some of the displayed materials are disrespectful to the office of the presidency. There is a picture of the president with a Hitler mustache. That's really what I object to. I'm not enthusiastic about Obama or Romney but I don't like that kind of message.

I think that that's an insult to the office of the presidency.

Such hate messages have no place on public property even though no permit is needed to carry out such displays.  We are blessed to have the right of free speech but that should be tempered by reasonable words rather than those of a mean spirited nature.
