The Charter Township of Brandon has had the 2nd reading of the following amending ordinance at the Regular Brandon Township Board Meeting of May 7, 2012.
AMENDING ORDINANCE #145-12 - Sign Movement or Message Changes
THE CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF BRANDON, OAKLAND COUNTY, MICHIGAN ORDAINS: that the current code of ordinances Section 46-447 (b) (2) Sign Movement or Message Changes be amended, and it is appropriate for the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the Township that the Code be amended accordingly.
Revision to Section 46-447. General Conditions to read as follows:
(2). No sign shall have blinking, flashing, or fluttering lights or other illuminating devices which have a changing intensity, brightness or color, or which are so constructed and operated as to create an appearance or illusion of writing, printing or moving graphics, except that static message movement showing the date, the time and the temperature or where the color, brightness, intensity, static message or any part of the sign changes no less than every 5 minutes may be permitted.
The invalidity of any clause, sentence, paragraph or part of this Ordinance shall not affect the validity of the remaining parts of this Ordinance.
The Clerk for the Charter Township of Brandon shall cause this Ordinance to be published in the manner required by the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act, Act 110 of 2006 as amended and MCL 42.22.
This Ordinance shall be effective the day of publication, May 12, 2012.
The forgoing Ordinance was duly adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Charter Township of Brandon at its regular meeting called and held on the 7th day of May, 2012 and was ordered to be given publication in the manner required by law.
