NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Squaw Lake/Clear Lake Special Assessment District

Notice is hereby given the Charter Township of Oxford ("Township") Board of Trustees will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 7:00 p.m., or soon thereafter as may be heard at the Oxford Veterans Memorial Civic Center located at 28 North Washington Street, Second Floor, Oxford, MI 48371 on whether to establish a special assessment district for the eradication and control of aquatic weeds in Squaw Lake and Clear Lake.

The Township Clerk has received a petition for special assessment district to make the improvements from the record of owners of land constituting more than 50% of the total land area in the proposed special assessment district, which is described below. Any objections including written appeals to the petition shall be heard at the hearing.

The Township Board of Trustees intends to make the improvements in accordance with Act 188 of the Public Acts of Michigan of 1954, as amended. Preliminary plans and estimates of the cost for the improvements are on file with the Township Clerk for public examination. Annual redeterminations of costs may be necessary without a change in the special assessment district.

Squaw Lake Canal Special Assessment District

Beginning in the northwestern part of the SAD at a point on south righ-of-way (row) of Harwood Drive, said point also being the northwest comer of Parcel 04-29-276-002; thence in a easterly direction 647 feet along the south row line of Harwood Drive to a point, said point being at the intersection of the row and the north line Parcel 04-29-276-017; thence easterly 464 feet to the northeast corner of Parcel 04-29-276-013; thence south 60 feet along the' east line of Parcel 04-29-276-013 to a point on the north row line of Homer Drive; thence southeasterly 620 feet and northeasterly 76 feet along the north row line of Homer Drive to a point on the westerly row line of Harwood Court, said point also being the southeast corner of Parcel 04-28-151-020; thence southeasterly 382 feet along the west row line of Harwood Court to a point, said point being the northeast corner of Parcel 04-28-151-024; thence south 195 feet and west 123 feet along the east and south lines of Parcel 04-28-151-024 to a point on the west row line of Maloney Drive, said point also being the northeast corner of Parcel 04-28-302-001; thence south and turning southeasterly 630 feet along the west and south row lines of Maloney Drive; thence southeasterly 1024 feet along the south row line of Maloney Drive; thence continuing 1627 feet in a clockwise direction along the west row line of Maloney Drive and the north row line of Lakesview Drive to a point, said point being the southeast corner of Parcel 04-28-352-005;

thence 1730 feet along the north row line of Lakesview Drive in a northwesterly direction to a point at the southwest corner of Parcel 04-28-305-001; thence south 82 feet along the east line of Parcel 04-29-428-01 lto a point on the north row line of Fernlock Drive; thence 471 feet on the northerly row line of Femlock Drive to the east row line of Pointe Drive; thence 816 feet along and around the east, north, and west row lines of Pointe Drive, and returning to north row line of Fernlock Drive; thence northwesterly 628 feet along the north row line of Fernlock Drive to the intersection of the west row line of Sebek Drive; said point also being the southeast corner of Parcel 04-29-426-001 (DNR access site); thence 333 feet along the south property line of DNR Parcel 04-29-429-001 to the west line of said Parcel; thence north 703 feet along west Parcel line; thence east 202 feet to a point on the north line of said Parcel, said point also being the southwest corner of Parcel 04-29-276-002; thence northerly 548 feet along the west line of parcel 04-29-276-002 to the south row line of Harwood Drive, said point also being the point of beginning.

After this Public Hearing for which this Notice is given, there will be a second Public Hearing specifically regarding the assessment roll and the assessments against each parcel in the special assessment district and that an owner or other person having an interest in the real property must file an appearance and protest at the Public Hearing on the assessment roll in order to appeal the amount of their assessment to the Michigan Tax Tribunal.

The Charter Township of Oxford will provide necessary reasonable auxiliary aids and services, such as signers for the hearing impaired and audio tapes of printed materials being considered at the meeting/hearing. Individuals with disabilities requiring auxiliary aids or services shall contact the Charter Township of Oxford, by writing or calling Curtis W. Wright, Township Clerk at 248-628-9787 as soon as possible to allow the Township sufficient time to have available the aids and services.
