All members present except Trustee Steele (with notice).
Held Closed Executive Session to discuss Attorney Opinion Letters and Purchase/Sale of Property.
Invocation: Fr. Verschaeve, St. Joseph's Church. Pledge: Trustee Steimel.
Delivered Proclamations in support of Fair Housing Month and Severe Weather Awareness Week.
Honored Clerk Shults for her 25 years of service to Orion Township.
Heard Presentations: Orion Area Youth Assistance, Christ the Redeemer/Habitat for Humanity Fundraiser, and Youth Council.
Approved the payment of bills in the amount of $814,982.83, and payrolls in the amount of $112,252.06, for a total disbursement of funds of $927,234.89.
Approved Agenda, as amended.
Approved Consent Agenda, as amended.
Approved Minutes, Regular Meeting, Monday, March 17, 2014.
Approved Minutes, Public Hearing: Friendship Park Ballfield Lighting, Monday, March 17, 2014.
Approved Minutes, Special Meeting: Capital Improvement Funding, Saturday, March 29, 2014.
Approved the application and issued a Peddler/Solicitor License to Willie Wilson of Iowa Steaks.
Approved the 2014 Community Service Agreement and allocation for Orion Area Youth Assistance, and authorized the Supervisor and Clerk to sign on behalf of the Township.
Authorized the Supervisor to notify the Road Commission for Oakland County that the Township has no objection to the abandonment of a portion of Pine Tree Road West.
Scheduled Public Hearing for SSH & SSH #1 Private Road Maintenance SAD #2 Cost Estimate for May 5, 2014 at 7:00 p.m.
Scheduled Public Hearing for Square Lake Water Quality Control (Lake Level) SAD #2Cost Estimate for May 5, 2014, immediately following SSH & SSH #1 Private Road Maintenance SAD #2.
Authorized Supervisor's office to proceed with Cost Estimate for Elkhorn Lake Water Quality SAD #5.
Appointed Leo Trayner to the Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee.
Awarded 2014 Road Chloride contract to the Road Commission for Oakland County (5 applications at $.275 – total cost of $48,756.40).
Authorized Clerk to sign the Qualified Voter File Grant Agreement for equipment upgrade.
Approved Weidman-Kernick's Application for Orion Center Alcohol Use Permit.
Approved Kirk's Application for Orion Center Alcohol Use Permit.
Received and filed Orion Township Public Library's 2013 Financial Statements.
Approved application to Sell Concessions on Township Property to Integrity Vending.
Granted Permission to Sell Concessions on Township Property to North Oakland Community Coalition during annual Color Run event.
Approved the sale of a portion of Township-owned property on Fernhurst Drive to Ken Beaty.
Adopted 2014 Dragon Dash Resolution for Road Commission.
Reduced temporary sign permit fee for North Oakland Community Coalition to $25.00.
Treasurer requested community input for Investment Roundtable program.
Clerically updated Investment Policy.
Received and filed notice of investment change.
Adopted Oakland County's "One Stop Ready" Resolution to encourage economic development.
Authorized Supervisor to sign the Beaumont Hospital / Orion Center Agreement.
Adopted resolution and directed Clerk to forward official NOTA Millage Ballot Language resolution to Oakland County Elections for inclusion in the August 5, 2014 Primary Election ballot.
Adopted resolutions and directed Clerk to forward two official Fire Millage Ballot Language resolutions to Oakland County Elections for inclusion on the August 5, 2014 Primary Election ballot.
Approved Application for New Waste Hauler License: Simple Recycling.
Approved Application for New Waste Hauler License: Griffin Disposal.
Authorized the sale of two Township-owned properties.
Hired Caitlin Sutton to the position of Voter Registration Clerk, a Level 4 Technical Union Position, effective April 24, 2014.
Rescinded previous Board Action concerning Elected Officials sign-in policy.
Received and filed RAP Grant update.
