August 20, 2014 - NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Charter Township of Orion Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing on Monday, September 8, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in the lower level of the Orion Township Hall, 2525 Joslyn Road, Lake Orion, Michigan 48360, on the following matter:

AB-2014-34, Arkom Pradithavanij, 301 Willow Lane, Sidwell #09-06-251-003

The petitioner is requesting two variances from Zoning Ordinance No. 78, for an accessory structure (greenhouse):

1. Article XXVII, Section 27.02, A, 8, Over 2.5 acres, Maximum Floor Area of Detached Accessory Buildings: requesting a 1,390-square foot variance above the allowed 1,400-square foot maximum floor area of a detached accessory buildings, to allow a greenhouse (1,500-square feet), resulting in a floor area of all accessory buildings equaling 2,790 square feet.

2. Article XXVII, Section 27.02, A, 8, Over 2.5 acres, Total Maximum Floor Area of All Accessory Buildings: requesting a 1,650-square foot variance above the allowed 1,900-square foot total maximum floor area of all accessory buildings to allow a greenhouse (1,500-square feet), resulting in a total maximum floor area of all accessory buildings equaling 3,550 square feet.

A complete copy of the proposed ZBA application is on file in the Building Department Office and may be examined during normal business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, until the date of the public hearing.

Orion Township will provide necessary and reasonable auxiliary aids, and services for individuals with disabilities at the public hearing upon advance notice by writing or calling Penny S. The petitioner is requesting a variance from Sign Ordinance No. 138, Section 8, Schedule B, Maximum Number of Signs, GB-1, requesting 2 wall signs per establishment; the ordinance allows 1 wall sign per establishment.
