January 23, 2013 - After a very tightly matched meet, with the score bumping back and forth between teams, the Oxford Boys' Swim and Dive Team increased their season record to 3-3 overall and 2-2 in the OAA White Division after defeating Rochester in the pool 104-81 on Jan. 17.
"We knew it was going to be a very close meet, and the score looks better than it really was due to a Rochester disqualification in the 200 Freestyle Relay," said Swim and Dive Coach Jacquelyn Rank. "Oxford still would have won the meet, but by a much smaller margin."
Exciting races included Jared Butler who touched second to Jacob Carl in 100 meter freestyle. Butler set a personal best and school record time with 48:07 Blake Hibdon came in third for Oxford.
The 100 meter breaststroke was another close one as Erik Vandecar came in second to Brien Moffitt with a personal best and new school record of 1:06:52 Chad Scribner and James Beaupied finished in third and fourth place respectively, both with personal best times.
