February 20, 2013 - The Lady Wildcats lost two this past week bringing their record to 13-5 on the season and 11-3 in the league.

Behind red hot three-point shooting Stoney Creek defeated Oxford 46-42 on Feb. 12. After jumping out to an early six point lead, Stoney never surrendered," according to Brian Murphy, Oxford's stats keeper.

"Oxford closed the gap to within three points a couple of times, led by Senior Shelby Davis with 14 points, but was never able to catch up," he said. "Stoney Creek was led by Maria Zandi with 16 points and Lauren Voss with 13 points."

In a makeup game on Feb. 16 against Andover the Lady Wildcats fell to Andover 49-46 after Andover's Shannon Wilson and deadly outside shooter Rachel Rae led the scoring with 21 points combined.

"Oxford led through three quarters of action, but Andover scored 21 points in the fourth quarter and proved too much for the Wildcats in the end," Murphy said.

In the loss Oxford was led by senior Miranda Murphy with 16 points. Shelby Davis contributed 11 and Jessica Murphy 10. Oxford hopes to return to their winning ways in the final week of the season with games against Farmington and Lake Orion as they prepare to host districts and the winner of the Rochester Adams / Romeo game in two weeks at Oxford.
