May 08, 2013 - It was a busy weekend for the Lady Wolves as they played different tournaments.

The Clarkston Girls Varsity Tennis team won the Red & White Holly Invite on Saturday.

Lexi Baylis, Isabella Spindler and Dana Olsen won their respective courts for the singles championships against Port Huron Northern.

Baylis beat Allie Sweeney, 6-0, 6-0; Spindler beat Lizzie Brozovich, 6-1, 5-7, (11-9); Olsen beat Rae Brozovich, 6-4, 6-7.

The team of Paige Olsen and Alex Whall won the No. 1 court for doubles in the championships against Olivia Underwood and Sammy Bakken, 6-0, 7-5.

The wins in flight championships broke tie against Port Huron and Farmington Hills Mercy.

They beat Andover 5-4 with a sweep in all the singles courts from Baylis, Spindler, Dana and Katie Hubregsen. For doubles, Paige Olsen and Whall took the win for the team.

The girls lost to Cranbrook, 5-3. Dana and Katie Hubregsen won their matches on their singles courts while doubles team Paige and Whall won their match, 6-1, 6-4, to score for Clarkston.

The girls tied for second place in the Ann Arbor Huron Invitational on April 27. They tied with Mercy, both scoring 14 points. Port Huron Northern and Ann Arbor Huron took first with 15 points.

Spindler and Dana won their championship matches for the singles courts and Paige and Whall won for doubles.

Clarkston Girls Varsity Softball team finished the 21st Annual Michigan Stars tournament during the weekend going 2-1.

They opened the tournament against Birmingham Groves with a loss, 8-6. They had four hits and Rachel Vieira hit a home run.

They beat Clio, 14-1. Abby Skvarce had four hits with a double.

They finished with a 6-2 win against St. Clair Shores Lakeview where Sydney Hasselbach and Alex Favazza both hit homeruns. Madeline Maday was the winning pitcher with two runs on three hits.

The girls began the week with two losses in their double header against Lake Orion, 9-8 and 11-9.

Vieira hit two homeruns and had six RBIs during the two games. Hasselbach hit one homerun and a double during the day with two RBIs. Kitchen hit two doubles and had four RBIs.

The girls lost to Swartz Creek on Thursday, 6-3. Skvarce hit a double and Kitchen had two RBIs.

They host a double header on Wednesday against Farmington and head to Rochester on Thursday.

The Clarkston Girls Varsity Lacrosse team beat Troy Athens, 18-10. Lauren Sharkey led with six goals and Anna Gray added five to the scoreboard. Sara Hall scored four in the win. Sierra Pass saved six shots. The girls host Oxford on Saturday, 2:30 p.m.
