September 11, 2013 - Runners competed in the West Bloomfield/Brother Rice Invitational at Kensington Metropark on Saturday.

Grant Henley led the Clarkston Boys Cross Country team in Division 1, finishing in the top 15 in the 14th spot in 17:30.

The team finished in 12th place with 240 points. Ann Arbor Pioneer finished in first place with 71 points.

The girls cross country team finished in sixth place with 190 points. Northville finished in first with 30 points.

The Lady Wolves opened the season with the Golden Grizzly High School Invite, Aug. 30.

They finished in seventh place with 182 points. Lynsie Gram led the team, finishing in fifth place at 20:49. Sage Beauregard finished in 19th place, 21:30.

Both teams compete in the OAA #1 meet next Tuesday at Bloomer Park, 345 John R Road in Rochester Hills at 4:30 p.m.

Clarkston Girls Varsity Volleyball team went 4-1-1 for the day at the Grand Blanc Tournament on Saturday.

They beat Novi in the semifinals and lost to Lake Orion in the finals. The Lady Wolves won the first game 27-26 but lost the next two games. Senior Brianna Frakes had 119 assists and six aces during the day. Junior Taylor Dellinger had 57 kills and senior Katie Chadwell had 45 kills and eight blocks.

The girls head to the Flushing Invite on Saturday then they host a quad on Tuesday at 5 p.m.

The Lady Wolves Varsity Golf team lost to Troy, 179-204.

Senior Sabrina Zayec led the team with a 49 par. Senior Dana Olsen had a 51; junior Caitlin McCaghy and senior Amanda Hampton, 52; senior Stephanie Jewell, 55; and senior Katie McKnee, 57.
