November 23, 2011 - Swimmers finished the season in tenth place at the MHSAA State Finals at Eastern Michigan University, Nov. 18-19.
Sophomore Sami Stelpflug led the team taking second place in two of her individual events, finishing at the time of 2:04.22 in the 200-yard IM and in 5:01.02 in the 500-yard freestyle.
She finished in third place in the 100-yard breaststroke event, 1:04.71.
Sophomore Kathryn Culver finished in ninth place in the 100-yard freestyle event.
The team placed two relay events - second in the 400-yard freestyle relay and ninth in the 200-yard medley relay.
Freshman Megan Stelpflug, sophomore Amber Hallman, Sami and Culver finished at the time of 3:32.18 in the 400-yard.
Sophomore Natalie Vela, Culver, Megan and Sami finished in 1:50.59 in the 200-yard relay.
Clarkston scored 103 points during the event. Farmington Hills Mercy took first place with 258 points.

Icers opened their season with two losses at the Metro Invite in Novi, Nov. 18-19.
They lost to Novi, 4-3, and Livonia Churchill, 9-2.
The boys host South Lyon and Brighton this weekend in the Thanksgiving Showcase. They play South Lyon on Friday, 5 p.m. and Brighton on Saturday, 2:30 p.m.
Both games are played at Detroit Skate Club, 888 Denison Court in Bloomfield Hills.
They play St. Clair Shores on Dec. 1, 5:30 p.m. at Detroit Skate Club.
