St. Mary's in the Hills Episcopal Church will host their annual Blessing of the Animals service, Sunday, Oct. 4 at 3 p.m.

A book so good you can taste it

Friends of the Orion Township Library are hosting a recipe tasting party at the library, located at 825 Joslyn, Saturday, October 3 from 1 to 4 p.m. The event is to promote the sale of their new fundraising cookbook Recipes from Our Home to Yours.

Meet the cooks and sample their favorite recipes now published in this keepsake cookbook. Recipe sample tasting tickets will be available, five for $1.

Cookbooks will also be available for purchase at the event.

Dine and dance to benefit education

Friday, Nov. 20, the Lake Orion Education Foundation (LOEF) will host their fourth evening for education at Canterbury Castle. Events begin at 6 p.m. and include a silent auction, cocktails & hors d'oeuvres, dinner, a special speaker, and dancing to the music of Full Tilt (formerly Dr. Z)
