November 25, 2009 - New puppy on your Christmas wish list?

The Lake Orion Lions Club can help.

The Lions will auction two puppies, a Goldendoodle and a Cockapoo, during the upcoming 'A Christmas for Everyone Charity Auction.'

Both dogs are 11 weeks old, and both are up to date on shots, said Rick Howard, Lions Club director.

The Goldendoodle—a Golden Retriever/Poodle mix—will likely grow to about 65 lbs.

"He has a lot of energy," said Howard. "He'll make a good family pet, or a great hunting dog."

The Cockapoo—a Cocker Spaniel/miniature Poodle mix—will stay on the small side, about 8-10 lbs.

"He's very calm," said Howard, who acquired the dogs from a local breeder. "He'll make a great companion for an older person."

Both dogs are said to be hypoallergenic. Each will come in a "package," including veterinary services, training crate and other supplies.

All proceeds will help fund the Lions Christmas Basket program.

The auction is Saturday, Dec. 12 at Palace Chrysler Dodge Jeep, and includes dinner, silent and live auction and a cash bar. Tickets $25, doors open at 4:30 p.m. Call 248-693-7236 for more information.
