December 30, 2009 - The Greater Oakland Republicans Club will meet Tuesday, Jan. 5 from 7 -9 p.m. at the Orion-Oxford Eagles Club, 317 W. Clarkston Road, Lake Orion. The featured speaker will be Steve Porter, a candidate for County Commissioner. Steve is a business owner, a Chaplin for the Oxford Police Department and a pastor for 24 years. Fundraiser for Lake Orion Robotics Team 302 Wednesday, Jan. 6 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Buffalo Wild Buffalo Wild Wings 3, on M-24 in Lake Orion.  The robotics team gets 20 percent of all sales.  Flyers are needed and will be available at the Lake Orion High School office or Kroger on M 24 in Lake Orion.

Pancake breakfast fundraiser for Lake Orion Robotics Team 302, Sunday, Jan. 10 from 8 a.m.-10 a.m. at the Lake Orion Applebee's. Tickets are $5 at the door, or get a pre-ticket at Lake Orion High school during lunch period,10:45 a.m.-1:50 p.m. the week of Jan. 4.

Snowmobile safety classes, Wednesday Jan. 13, 5:30-9 p.m., Friendship Park Meeting Room. Ages 12 and up. Offered through Orion Township Parks and Recreation Department, taught by certified DNR instructor. Fee $14.

The Lake Orion Boy Scout Troop #128 is now accepting registrations for the Readyman Activity Pin event for Orion, Oxford and Clarkston area Webelo scouts. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, January 19. Webelos will participate in a first aid demonstration and proceed to individual first aid testing stations to complete pin requirements. St. Joseph School 12-Hour Scrapbooking Crop, Saturday, Jan. 23, 9 a.m.–9 p.m., 703 N. Lapeer Rd.
