Possible online fradulent activity is under investigation at a village credit union. Lake Orion police received a report Dec. 26 on the incident.

Deputy Reports

Scrap steel stolen

A man renting a building in the 600 block of Brown Road came to the substation Dec. 24 to report someone stole 200 lbs of scrap steel from the yard in the back of the building the previous day.

Pilfered pills

A 51-year-old man living on Eagle Vista came to the substation Dec. 24 to report someone stole a bottle of prescription painkillers from the medicine cabinet in his home the previous night. The man told deputies some of his guests brought friends he'd never met before.

Only a spat

Deputies responded to a call of possible domestic violence in the 2100 block of Cole Road Dec. 25, but determined an argument between the couple living in the home was only verbal in nature.

Drunk driving stupor

Deputies arriving on southbound Lapeer Road just south of Silverbell shortly after 6 a.m. Dec. 26 found a pickup truck with its hazard lights on parked behind a Chevy Malibu. The driver of the pickup said he was warning other drivers of the Malibu after he stopped to check on the driver and found her passed out behind the wheel.

Deputies noted the engine of the car was off, but keys were still in the ignition and the 24-year-old Detroit woman sitting behind the wheel was incoherent, slurred her words badly and appeared highly intoxicated.

She was arrested and jailed on drunk driving charges and produced a PBT of .24—three times the legal limit—at Oakland County Jail.

Cleaned out

Police were looking into a case of credit card fraud after the owner of an Orion Township business discovered more than $3,000 in charges were denied by a credit card company, who said the woman who purchased the merchandise—a 32-year-old Keego Harbor woman—did not have permission to use the card.

Seen in LEIN

Deputies checking the area of Pine Tree and Heights for a suspicious vehicle Dec. 28 pulled over a silver car driving with its lights off, but discovered the man in the vehicle was not the person they were looking for. A LEIN check, however, revealed the 21-year-old Orion man had a warrant for possession of marijuana out of the Oakland County Sheriff's Office. He was arrested and transported to Oakland County Jail.

Disorderly dudes

Two 20-year-old Independence Township men were cited for disorderly conduct after a deputy spotted them driving out of Freedom Park after hours and pulled the duo over for questioning. Both men had been drinking, but neither produced a PBT high enough for drunk driving charges.
