Daddy Daughter Dance success

February 24, 2010 - Dear Editor:

To all the dads and daughters attending the 2010 Daddy Daughter Dance... thank you for making this year's event a smashing success.

If you were wondering about all the electricity in the air on the evening of Feb. 10, wonder no more! It was Brandon Township Parks & Recreation's 2010 Daddy Daughter Dance! More than 350 dads and daughters braved the snow to gather in the Brandon High School cafeteria for an evening of dining, dancing, cake, punch, and photography.

Thank you to the Brandon School District employees, students and volunteers for facilitating this event in spite of the fact that classes were cancelled due to the snow: Brandon Schools Food Service - Suzanne Evenson and staff, Brandon Schools Maintenance and Operations - Roger Goodman, Doug and Ron, Hawks Nest- Keri Leslie (for making all those balloons), Truck Town Thunder FIRST Robotics Club - Mr. Spiece, Mr. Ceccacci, Linda Smith, Donna Bullard, Michael Dawson and Ryan Taylor, Denise & Sarah Vanden Bossche, Alex Cook, Ryan Wummel, Elizabeth Kayfish, Kaymin Parker and Emily Taylor.

Special thanks to Pam Chester and Ron Lapp for dedicating their time and energy to the success of this event for the past nine years. The dedication and community-mindedness of every guest, worker, and volunteer has historically ensured that the show will go on - in spite of the unpredictable Michigan weather.

Diane Lapp, Brandon Township Parks & Recreation
