May 05, 2010 - Golfers kept their par low going against Stoney Creek.

They beat the Cougars, 157-173.

Nathan Cowan led the team with a par of 36 at Oakhurst Golf Club on Thursday. Jimmy Delnick shot a 38, Nick Robeson, 41, and Taylor Walker, 42. The top golfer from Stoney Creek was Shane Felton with a 38 par.

The boys placed third in the Country Club Classic on April 26. Walker led, shooting a 76 par.

The Wolves split the week in their lacrosse games.

They defeated Troy on home turf on Thursday night, 7-5. Hunter Layson was the leading scorer with three goals and Jordan Kincaid added two to the board.

They lost to Midland, 10-4.

The boys are on the road this week, taking on Huron High School on Friday at 6 p.m.

The girls lacrosse team lost two games last week against undefeated teams.

They began the week against Rochester, 13-10. Stephanie Dellinger and Lauren Sharkey each scored three goals in the game.

They lost to Troy on Friday, 21-5.

They play at Swartz Creek on Wednesday at 6:30 and Stoney Creek on Saturday, 11:15 a.m.

Hitters lost to Rochester Adams on Monday night.

They scored only one run on the Highlanders while the opponents hit the right key on their bagpipes scoring 11 in five innings. Chris Mocerino hit a triple.

The Wolves had a better night to Lake Orion on Friday. They lost, 11-10. Mocerino hit 3-for-4, a home run and had three RBIs and Chase Toth hit 2-for-4 and had two RBIs. They lost to Stoney Creek on April 28, 8-3.
