May 05, 2010 - Amy Garner graduated from Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio on May 1 with a bachelor of science degree in nursing.

The 2006 Oakland Christian School graduate is the daughter of Jeri and John Garner of Ortonville.

Joyce Schwartz graduated from Eastern Michigan University on April 25, receiving a bachelor's degree in nursing with university honors, summa cum laude (3.9-4.0 GPA).

The 2006 Brandon High School graduate plans to work in the nursing profession and further her education in the near future to become a nurse practitioner.

She is the daughter of John and Janice Schwartz of Ortonville.

Renee Stachelek graduated summa cum laude on May 1 from Oakland University with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education. The 2005 Brandon High School graduate majored in language arts, minored in mathematics and had a cumulative grade point average of 3.92.

Stachelek is the daughter of Henry and Linda Stachelek of Ortonville. She will pursue a career as an elementary or middle school teacher.

Dayna Stamper was named to the dean's list for the winter semester at the University of Michigan where she is a communications major. This is her fourth continuous year of being on the dean's list. She will graduate in December with honors.

Dayna, a 2005 Brandon High School graduate, has accepted an internship this summer with McCann Erickson, an advertising firm, to further her studies. She is the daughter of Tom and Patty Stamper of Ortonville.

Jenny Stratton recently graduated from the University of Michigan-Flint with a bachelor of science degree in molecular biology.

The 2004 Brandon High School graduate plans to attend pharmacy school at U-M next year. She is the daughter of Kenny and Marilyn Stratton of Brandon Township.

Matthew Bulliner of Goodrich and Chass Bakker of Ortonville were named to the dean's list at Kettering University for the winter 2010 semester.

Bulliner is pursuing a computer science degree, while Bakker is working on a mechanical engineering degree.

The dean's list at Kettering University is an honor earned by students, who in a given term, have attained a grade point average of 3.5, have received no grades below a "B," and have earned a minimum of 16 credits.
