May 12, 2010 - Melissa Marble graduated with honors on May 2 from the University of Michigan Flint with a bachelor of fine arts degree.

The 2005 Brandon High School graduate remained on the dean's list throughout her years at U of M. Marble plans to work on her master's degree to pursue a career in teaching art at the university level. She is the daughter of Victoria Marble of Goodrich.

Alexis Dickie, a Brandon High School senior, was one of nine students to receive the Congressional Medal of Merit from 8th District Congressman Mike Rogers last week at the Michigan State Capitol Building.

Students are nominated for the honor by their schools based on academic and community service criteria. Each of the students have demonstrated exemplary citizenship and educational excellence throughout their high school careers.
