June 30, 2010 - The Clarkston Riverdawgs 9U team stormed the baseball fields in Farmington and brought home a trophy.

They won the South Farmington Blues USSSA Baseball tournament, June 12-13.

The boys defeated four teams along the way and had no losses.

"The kids played great baseball in a very competive tournament," said Tim Henley, assistant coach.

The boys held the Lincoln Railsplitters, from Ypsilanti, down to three runs as they scored 11. They had a closer game against Motor City Bulldogs, from Metro Detroit, and won it by two points, 10-8.

They defeated the Birmingham Bulldogs, 17-7.

They faced off against the Oxford Wildcats in the championship round.

"It was a hard-fought game," said Henley. "It was a pitchers' dual until we broke it open in the last couple innings."

The 'Dawgs put the Cats back in their cage with 8-3 win.

The boys have kept the momentum going posting three wins in the last week.

They beat the Orion Chargers, 11-3 and the Stoney Creek Cutters twice on June 20, 18-3 and 10-0.

Their overall record is currently 26-6-1.
