July 14, 2010 - It's time for good times again. Good Times in Goodrich will take place Aug. 28-29.

"Last year, we had a really good turnout," said Shirley Kautman-Jones. "We're hoping for an even better one this year."

Kautman-Jones said the fire department is going to be instrumental in the event, as usual.

"The fire department is more and more involved every year, but I don't pretend to know what they have planned," she said. "What I do know is we'll be having a parade, which is going to be a new addition."

Along with the Good Times parade, Kautman-Jones said there will be a craft show, business expo, bake-off, and flea market, along with other attractions.

Goodrich has taken inspiration from popular television in the events of Goodrich Idol and even Goodrich's Biggest Loser, which will be put on by Four Seasons Karate.

Kautman-Jones said more than anything, she's looking forward to the bake sale.

"Last year, it was a riot," she said.

"We had radio personalities for a few of our judges and it was just a lot of fun."

Even without the bake sale, though, Kautman-Jones said Good Times in Goodrich is worth everyone's time.

"I think it's important that people take part in these events," she said. "There's a community connection involved. See your friends. Have fun."
