August 18, 2010 - Coffee hour

There will be a coffee hour at The Citizen, 12 South St., Ortonville, at 9 a.m., Friday, Aug.27. The public is welcome to attend and check out the new Ortonville 411 website. Details: 248-627-4332.

GHS orientation

At 6:30 p.m., Aug. 25 the Goodrich High School staff and student council will be holding the 2010/2011 Orientation in the Goodrich High School auditorium to let students and parents know what to expect for the upcoming school year. Freshman will receive their schedules, locker placements, tour the building and have their school pictures taken. Parents are encourged to attend this with their students. Details: 810-591-2251.

GHS registration

From 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Aug. 25-26, Goodrich High School will be hosting registration days instead of mailing back-to-school packets to students. Aug. 25 is exclusively for seniors and juniors and Aug. 26 is reserved for sophomores and freshmen. At registration, students will have school pictures taken, receive schedules and locker assignments, pay fines, purchase parking permits, sign up for schedule changes and complete information forms. The athletic office will be open to accept physicals, pay-to-play payments, etc. Details: 810-591-2251.

Community sale

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sept. 25-26, the Wojo's Walkers will host a community yard sale at Wojo's Greenhouse, 2570 Oakwood Road. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society and the Ortonville Crop Walk. Yard sale donations are accepted. Details: 248-627-6498.
