August 25, 2010 - Coffee hour

Blink on

Ortonville- The traffic light in the village will remain on the blink.

After a 90-day review of the traffic light located at Mill and South streets, the village council has determined that the change to a constant blinking red signal has been received favorably by residents. The council decided at their Aug. 23 meeting to leave the light as a blinking red.

"The comments I have received have been favorable and it is an improvement for the village and the traffic flow, with less wait time," said Village Manager Larry Brown.

OCEF meeting

At 6:30 p.m., Sept. 1, the Ortonville Community Emergency Fund will host the September meeting at the Seymour Lake United Methodist Church, 3050 S. Sashabaw Road. Come learn the many ways you can become a volunteer. Details: 248-628-4763.

Fall colors

Starting at 9 a.m., Oct. 3 see Michigan's fall colors during an overnight trip with Brandon Township Parks and Recreation. The trip north will also include a stop at Odawa Casino Resort and shopping in Mackinaw City. The bus will return Oct. 4. Details: 248-627-4650.

Brandon Boutique

On Nov. 13, Brandon Township Parks and Recreaton is hosting the Brandon Boutique at the Brandon Middle School. Vendors are needed. 248-627-4640.
