Man arraigned in sexual assault of Brandon Township child

August 25, 2010 - A 42-year-old man staying at a residence in the Clarkston Lakes Mobile Home Park after he tattooed the homeowner has been arraigned in the sexual assault of a child who was being babysat there.

Michael Daniel Girgenti was arraigned Aug. 23 on one count of criminal sexual conduct, second degree (person under 13) in front of 52-2 District Court Magistrate Raguso. The 15-year felony charge requires mandatory AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases testing.

According to police reports, Brandon deputies were called Aug. 6 by a woman who reported that her 11-year-old daughter was sexually assaulted by a friend of the babysitter.

The mother said when she picked up her daughter at a home on Wildwood Loop, she was not acting right. She coaxed her daughter into telling why she was upset and the girl said Girgenti had touched her inappropriately.

Girgenti, who has no permanent address, was given permission to stay at the Wildwood Loop residence after he tattooed the homeowner the night before. Oakland County Sheriff's Office Detective Dale Brown said Girgenti is known around the mobile home park as "Oz" or "Tattoo Mike."

The Fugitive Apprehension Team arrested Girgenti Aug. 21 in Pontiac. He is being held in the Oakland County Jail on $250,000 bond, no 10 percent. A preliminary exam is scheduled for Sept. 2 in front of 52-2 District Court Judge Kelley Kostin.
