Blazing a trail of hope

September 15, 2010 - Some biked. Some ran. Many walked.

Though their methods of movement varied, they all had one goal as they traversed the Polly Ann Trail Saturday – beat breast cancer.

About 120 people participated in the 4th Annual Pink Ribbon Trailblazers event that started in Oxford Township's Powell Lake Park behind the library on Pontiac St.

The event raised approximately $9,300, which will be used to help provide mammograms for uninsured and underserved women in Oakland County. The mammograms are done at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital in Pontiac.
