Cross country, girls' swimming, volleyball, boys' soccer, boys' tennis

September 22, 2010 - Cross country

Sept. 14, at the Oakland Activities Association first Red Jamboree, the boys' cross country team ran to a first place finish with 43. Birmingham Seaholm came in second with 50, and Clarkston took third with 78.

Individually, LO's T.J. Carey finished with a first place time of 16:24.3, Jake Lauka came in fourth with 16.55 and Brad Cross was seventh with 17:07.

The lady runners came in sixth as a team with 125.

Sept. 18, at the Holly-Nike Invitational, the boys took fourth place with 130. First place was Novi Detroit Catholic Central (53), second was Toledo St. Francis DeSales (81) and third was Grand Blanc.

Individually, Carey took third place with a time of 16:36.

At the invitational, the LO girls' team came in seventh with 165.

Girls' swimming

In the pool Sept. 16, the girls' swim team took on Birmingham Groves, but lost 133-52.

In the 200 freestyle, Annie Jongekrig took first with a time of 2:03.39; in 200 IM, Courtney McClear took first with 2:15.94; and in diving, Katie Corcoran was in first with 175.85 points.


On the court, Lady Spikers swept Troy Athens in all three matches, 25-23, 25-22 and 25-18.

Boys' soccer

Sept.16, boys' soccer lost to Troy, 4-1. During the home game, Troy took the lead in the first have and never gave it up. Lake Orion is now 3-3-1, overall, on the season.

Boys' tennis

Under the September sun, the boys' tennis team took on Rochester and ultimately lost, 6-2, Sept. 14. Lake Orion's Tyler Lendregtske and Brenden MacDonald defeated both their opponents in singles play. Dragons are now 2-3.
