On Sept. 21, a Brandon deputy responded to the 900 block of Oakwood for an attempted home invasion. The complainant said between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m., the day before someone tried to force entry into her home. The door jamb was cracked, but nothing was missing in the failed attempt to get in.
On Sept. 25, a Brandon deputy responded to the 300 block of Corkwood for a report of malicious destruction of property. The complainant said someone broke the passenger side window on his Chevy Cavalier sometime between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
On Sept. 25, Michigan State Troopers from the Groveland post responded to the Brian Court in Quarella Estates for a report of destruction of property. When troopers arrived the complainant's 2002 Pontiac Grand Am had a cut brake line and a broken radio antenna. The 18-year-old daughter who drove the car said she suspects an old boyfriend. Case open.
13 and drunk
On Sept. 25, at 1 a.m., Brandon deputies responded to the 3800 block of Cedar Loop for an area check of juveniles that were knocking on the complainant's daughter's window. Three males were observed during the area check, including one on a bike and one on a scooter. They abandoned the bike and scooter and fled when the deputy attempted to make contact. One of the boys, identified by the mother, had told the daughter he stole the bike. The bike and scooter were returned to the rightful owners. The mother of the 13-year-old suspect was contacted and said her son was missing. He later returned home and deputies and Brandon Fire Department medics responded for a medical. A preliminary breathalyzer test was administered and the boy's blood alcohol content was found to be .134 percent. He was turned over to medics for care.
The On Sept. 26, a Brandon deputy responded to the 4300 block of Fir for a report of malicious destruction of property. The complainant said he parked his car in the driveway on Sept. 24 at 1 p.m. and on Sept. 25 at 11 a.m., he noticed a scratch on the vehicle that extended from one rear quarter panel to the other.
On Sept. 26, a Brandon deputy responded to the 4300 block of Fir for a report of malicious destruction of property. The complainant said he parked his vehicle in the roadway several weeks ago and today he was advised by his neighbors there was a scratch on the rear driver side door that was 18 inches long.
On Sept. 26, a Brandon deputy responded to the 3800 block of Redbud for a report of larceny from an auto. The complainant said he chased off a juvenile that he found inside his unlocked truck. An iPod is missing from the center console. He described the suspect as a white male in a blue hooded sweatshirt.
On Sept. 27, Michigan State Troopers from the Groveland post responded to the 15000 block of Worden Road for a complaint of littering The resident said someone drives by at least twice a week and dumps trash at the end of her driveway. Case open.
