Cross country, Boys' soccer, Boys' tennis, Volleyball, Girls' golf

The boys' cross country team raced to first place at the 2nd OAA Cross Country Jamboree, held Tuesday, Sept. 28 at Stoney Creek Metro Park.  LO won by a mere four points over Seaholm and the rest of the league, with 45 points.  T. J. Carey repeated as the individual winner leading the Dragons, along with Jake Lauka's fifth place finish.  This proved to be the main difference, as the scoring was extremely tight, said Coach Stan Ford.

In the jamboree, Lady Dragons placed fourth. They had a score of 96.5. Troy came in first with 52, Rochester was in second with 77, and Rochester Adams took third with 81. 4.

Boys' soccer

On the home field, Dragon kickers took on Saint John's Jesuit Academy, from Toledo, OH, and lost, 1-0, Tuesday, Sept. 28. Ian Chevrier minded the net for Lake Orion. Thursday, Sept. 30, the boys went head-to-head with Flushing, the game ending in a 2-2 tie. Jesus Dinez scored both goals for LO. The team is now 5-5-2.

Boys' tennis

Thursday, Sept. 30, at the OAA White tournament, the Lake Orion boys ended up in sixth place out of seven teams with 22 points. Stoney Creek came in first with 54, Lahser took second with 39 and Clarkston had third with 36.


Tuesday, Sept. 28, Lake Orion nearly swept Rochester 25-13, 22-25, 25-7, and 25-14. Thursday, Sept. 30, they tied with Birmingham Seaholm, each winning two matches.

Girls' golf

Wednesday, Sept. 29, Lake Orion fell to Stoney Creek, 156-206 at Boulder Bluff, a par 36 course. Stacy Lecznar hit a 44, Maddy McClean swung 49, Riley Dunn hit 55 and Abby Lennox swung 58.
