CLARKSTON RANCH ESTATES STREET LIGHTING IMPROVEMENT AND SPECIAL ASSESSMENT
PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that, on November 3, 2010, at 7:30 p.m. in the Township Hall of the Charter Township of Independence, 6483 Waldon Center Drive, Clarkston, Michigan, the Township Board shall meet for the purpose of hearing comments and objections on the question of amending and expanding the street lighting special assessment district for Clarkston Ranch Estates Subdivision No. 1 and No. 2 and defraying the expenses of the installation, operation, maintenance and associated costs of the streetlights in the district by special assessment, which, if approved, would be spread consistent with all terms and conditions established by the Township Board including the cost allocation, and the proposed amended special assessment district.
The proposed special assessment is for the operation, maintenance and associated costs of street lighting in the Clarkston Ranch Estates Subdivisions as described on the special assessment district and special assessment roll.
A copy of the proposed special assessment roll for the proposed Clarkston Ranch Estates Street Lighting Special Assessment District is on file at the Township Clerk's office, 6483 Waldon Center Road, Clarkston, Michigan for public examination during normal business hours.
Appearance and protest at the hearing is required in order for an affected property owner or party in interest to appeal the matters to the State Tax Tribunal. An owner or party in interest, or his or her agent, may appear in person at the hearing to protest the special assessment, or may file his or her appearance or protest by letter and his or her personal appearance then shall not be required.
