November 03, 2010 - Instructors at Orion Township's Elegance in Motion dance studio are teaching local celebrities to shake their groove thing and it's all for a good cause.

For the second year in a row, instructors are donating their time and talents for a local Dancing With the Stars charity event. Proceeds go to South Oakland Shelter in Royal Oak.

Elegance in Motion's Sarah Haremza said the event raised around $360,000 last year and proved to be pretty fun, too.

"The best part for us has been the chance to meet some of the people we see on TV and share our love of dancing with them. None of them have ever danced before, so anytime we get the opportunity to teach somebody and show them a few things, it's fun," she said.

Tim, an instructor with Elegance in Motion will be dancing with Channel 2's Jackie Paige. Tim won first place with his partner last year and has high hopes for he and Paige, who says she's never danced before.

Tickets for the event are $150. Dancing with the Stars is Saturday, Nov. 6 at The Reserve Birmingham. Call the South Oakland Shelter at 248-546-6566 for more information.
