November 03, 2010 - Coffee hour
There will be a coffee hour at 9 a.m., Friday, Nov. 19, at The Citizen, 12 South St., Ortonville. The public is welcome to attend and enjoy sweet treats and conversation. Donations will be accepted for the Ortonville Community Emergency Fund.
A concert to benefit the Ortonville Commuity Emergency Fund (OCEF) featuring the bands At the Crossroads and By the Cross is planned for 6 p.m., Nov. 14, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 825 S. Ortonville Road, Ortonville. Freewill offerings all benefit OCEF, which supports families in need in the Brandon School District, providing food and emergency help with utilities.
A spaghetti dinner fundraiser to benefit the Gift of Life Michigan and the Josh Tolan Memorial Scholarship Fund is planned for 6:30 p.m.-9 p.m, Dec. 10 at the Brandon High School cafeteria, 1025 S. Ortonville Road.
Tolan, a 2007 BHS graduate, died from injuries sustained in an auto accident June 8, 2009. Tolan's family donated his organs, saving the lives of others.
On Jan. 1, 2011, Josh Tolan's life will be honored by the Gift of Life Michigan in the 2011 Parade of Roses in Pasadena, California. A floragraph image of Tolan will be part of the Donate Life America Rose Bowl float.

The Brandon Boutique and Craft Show, featuring numerous craft items from various vendors is planned for 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Nov. 13 at the Brandon Middle School gymnasium, 609 S. Ortonville Road.
